Chamber Foundation is Reorganized
As of January 1, 2017, the North Penn Chamber of Commerce Foundation has a new name, mission and board of directors.
The mission of the Community Health & Youth Foundation is to collaborate with the business community fostering programs and activities targeting literacy and wellness in Greater Montgomery County. The Foundation, which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, will oversee Community Reading Day, bi-annual health programs and annual scholarship awards.

Chamber Board Welcomes New Members
Sheri Strouse, Senior Vice President and Chief Retail Officer, Harleysvill Savings Bank and Duncan Reed, Financial Advisor, Edward Jones Investments began their three-year term in January.
Sheri serves as an executive officer for both the Bank and its parent company, Harleysville Savings Financial Corporation, and has been in the Chamber for 18 years. She also served the Peak Center as President of their Board of Directors.
Duncan has been a chamber Ambassador, member of the Advisory Council and retains his role as a moderator for our weekly Business Connectors networking group. He also currently serves as a board member for the North Wales Library and is an adjunct instructor at Gwynedd Mercy University.
We Have “Adopted A Highway”
When Driving on Rt. 113 in Harleysville, you will soon see a blue PennDOT sign indicating the PennSuburban Chamber is doing its part in being a civic-minded organization, keeping Pennsylvania beautiful and litter-free. We will be hosting two annual clean-up events and welcome your member support.
Chamber Opens Blue Bell Satellite Office
The Chamber is excited to announce our new Blue Bell satellite office in order to better serve the members in the Wissahickon Valley region. In partnership with Chamber member, Crown Tutors & Test Prep, we will utilize space within their office to establish a presence in the area and confirm our commitment to Blue Bell and the surrounding communities.

Chamber Golf Outing
September 22 - The annual golf outing took on extra significance this year as the Chamber invited area police officers and military veterans to attend as a show of thanks for everything they do.
New Board Members Announced
Help us welcome to the Board of Directors John Ernst, Lansdale Borough, Jim Madanci, ShopRite Hatfied, and Chris Walton, Clyde S. Walton, Inc.
John Ernst is the Assistant Manager, Lansdale Borough and most recently served on the Chamber’s Advisory Council. Ernst has lived in the borough for the past 25 years and serves as the Director of Community Development in addition to his responsibility as the Borough’s Assistant Manager. John promotes revitalization activities throughout the community and builds positive relationships with business owners.
Jim Madanci, owner of ShopRite Hatfield, has earned EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) recognition. Jim is also a member of the Chamber golf committee.
Chris Walton, Controller, Clyde S. Walton Inc., has been an active member of the Chamber, having served on the Advisory Council and now on the Board of Directors.
These new members offer a depth of experience and insight of our community, which will be valuable to our Board.
Chamber Grand Opening
August 25 - Over 200 people attended an open house and ribbon cutting for the new home of the PennSuburban Chamber of Greater Montgomery County. Located within the showroom of Volpe Enterprises in North Wales, the Chamber is seated in the center of the region in which it serves.
Founded in 1913, the PennSuburban Chamber is now the premier business organization for networking, learning and giving in the county. It is the largest chamber of commerce in Montgomery County, and one of the leading business advocates for the business community in the Greater North Penn, Indian Valley, Eastern Montgomery and Western Bucks Regions.

First Marion E. Keller Scholarship Awarded
Chun Hua Cox, a 2016 graduate of North Penn High School is the first recipient of the Marion E. Keller Scholarship Award. The annual high school award was dedicated to Marion for her tireless commitment to education in our region. A teacher at the Lansdale School of Business for over 50 years, Marion continues to represent the school at Chamber events.
Chun Hua will be attending Gwynedd Mercy University in the Fall to study Accounting. She relocated to the US from China at 14 years old, speaking no English. She quickly adapted to school completing the ESL curriculum and then taking several AP classes. She maintained a parttime job while engaging in several extra-curricular activities.

Reading Day 2016
May 3 - 97 Chamber volunteers helped to celebrate the 18th Annual Community Reading Day by reading to nearly 2,000 second grade students.
